Indoor Horse Portraits
Indoor horse portraits are fantastic for capturing the horse on its own, highlighting personality and fine details. We use a professional studio set up inside an indoor arena or a spacious barn to control light and background. Indoor shoots typically take around 30 minutes per horse, giving the horse time to settle while we work efficiently. Thoughtful lighting and careful editing are applied to produce these superb, timeless images.
Outdoor Horse & Owner Portraits
Outdoor horse and owner portraits are fantastic for capturing the special bond between a horse and its owner. Sarah will come to your yard or to an agreed-upon location for the shoot. This could be a forest, the beach, open fields, bluebell woods, lavender fields, or hay meadows — whichever setting best suits you and your horse. Any expenses or arrangements connected to the chosen location are to be covered by the horse owner. Outdoor shoots typically last around an hour, and if time allows, an outfit change can be arranged. These images are timeless and will become treasured memories to keep forever.
If you are bathing your horse before their shoot (recommended) you need to make sure they have fully dried. A wet horse will show up in the photographs. They look their best fully dry.

A mileage charge may be applied if you are located beyond Sarah’s 20-mile service boundary. This distance is measured from Sarah’s Studio in West End, Southampton, Hampshire, UK, and covers journeys radiating outward from that central point.
Important Terms
Please read these important terms before booking your chosen Horse photo shoot.
Extra horses? Additional horses you own can be added without issue. Sarah charges £65.95 for each extra horse.
More than one client?
That isn’t a problem — each client chooses the package that suits them best.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Two clients with one horse each would simply select which package they each prefer.
The Kentucky, The Badminton, or The Burghley.
It is not permitted to include a third party’s horse in your shoot. Every horse must be booked through a package deal; only horses you personally own may be added to your chosen package.
You are also welcome to add products to any of these packages and further tailor them to meet your specific needs.
DEPOSITS
£100 deposits will be collected at the time you make your booking. This payment will be applied toward the total package cost. The remaining balance will be due 48 hours before the scheduled shoot date. Deposits are non‑refundable. Your shoot may be rescheduled up to two times in the event of weather complications or illness. Sarah is fully committed to each of her clients, and by agreeing to these terms the client confirms an equal level of commitment.
If you are purchasing a package as a gift, you may pay for it upfront, as is possible for any client.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY SHOOT?
After your shoot has taken place, your images will be edited down to a reasonably sized album. When they are finished, Sarah will contact you to arrange your viewing at her studio. This is when you can look through your images and choose your favourites. This is a fun, low key occasion, with many laughs and sometimes emotional moments.
